Lately I’ve been painting native Colorado birds—small moments of color, personality, and presence.

 

I keep thinking about the phrase “Bird by Bird,” inspired by one of my favorite books by Anne Lamott and the reminder that overwhelming things become manageable when we take them one small step at a time.

 

One brushstroke.
One painting.
One bird at a time.

 

This new collection has quietly become about more than birds for me.
